Corrugated paper has a wide range of applications due to its structural characteristics (such as strength and cushioning) and technological features (such as watermarking for anti-counterfeiting). It is mainly used in industrial packaging, anti-counterfeiting and specialty printing, creative and handicraft education, and product and furniture design.

In the industrial packaging sector, corrugated cardboard (also known as corrugated board) is the core material for manufacturing cartons, liners, and other packaging materials. Its high mechanical strength, good impact resistance, and cushioning properties effectively protect products. Corrugated packaging designs are widely used across various industries, especially for fragile or environmentally sensitive products such as electronics, food, and daily necessities. Furthermore, corrugated cardboard is lightweight, recyclable, and environmentally friendly, reducing transportation costs and environmental pollution.

In the anti-counterfeiting and specialty printing sector, the traditional watermark paper technique has been used for anti-counterfeiting of banknotes (such as Jiaozi) since the Song Dynasty. To this day, watermarking technology is still widely used for documents requiring high levels of anti-counterfeiting, such as banknotes, passports, certificates, and ledgers.

In the field of creative and craft education, colored corrugated cardboard, due to its rich colors and ease of cutting and shaping, is frequently used in handicrafts, artistic creation, and school art education courses.

In the field of product and furniture design, corrugated cardboard, with its unique structural aesthetics and environmentally friendly properties, is applied to creative furniture and product design, such as the design and production of chairs and stools.
