Standards: GB/T 24696 (Vegetable Parchment for Food Packaging) and GB 4806.8-2022 (Paper for Food Contact)

Note: Vegetable parchment is distinct from animal parchment and silicone-coated paper; it is made from 100% food-grade wood pulp treated with a sulfuric acid parchmentization process, contains no silicone coating, and is safe for direct food contact.

Food-grade parchment paper is specifically designed for direct food packaging and manufactured under strict food-grade controls, meeting all standards for heavy metals, fluorescent agents, and migration limits. It features a dense, gelatinized fiber structure that is naturally grease- and water-resistant, translucent, and tough; it is available in natural or white shades and can be customized in either roll or sheet formats.

Distinction: Silicone-coated paper achieves non-stick properties through a post-applied silicone coating, whereas pure food-grade parchment paper contains no silicone-relying instead on its inherent fiber structure for grease resistance-and does not offer strong non-stick performance.

Key Performance Characteristics

1. Food Safety: Free from fluorescent agents and harmful leachables; safe for direct contact with oily, dry, or moist foods; complies with domestic food standards; suitable for FDA and SGS testing for export purposes.

2. Natural Barrier Properties: Dense structure provides resistance to oil, oil seepage, and moisture, effectively preventing grease leakage.

3. Temperature Stability: Withstands temperatures ranging from -20°C to 180°C for short durations; suitable for refrigeration, brief baking, and hot food packaging. Note: Prolonged exposure to high heat causes brittleness and carbonization; not suitable for continuous baking at temperatures above 200°C.

4. High Strength and Fold Endurance: Resistant to tearing when exposed to oil or water; does not shed fibers or dust.

5. pH Neutral: Does not react with oils or acidic foods; preserves the original flavor of the food.

6. Processing Capabilities: Supports single-color printing with food-grade ink, slitting, and rewinding; customizable roll widths available.

Distinguishing Between Three Easily Confused Paper Types

1. Food-grade parchment paper (silicone-free): GB/T24696; naturally grease-resistant and silicone-free; suitable for direct food contact; non-stick properties are absent.

2. Silicone baking paper: Base paper with a food-grade silicone coating; grease-resistant and non-stick; designed for easy release in high-temperature oven use.

3. Industrial parchment paper: GB/T23758; for industrial use; not suitable for food contact; must not be used interchangeably with food-grade paper.
